Sephiria Ingenuity Talent: +7% Damage Per Combo Type
Ingenuity is the talent tree this site can date most precisely — the talents page attributes it to the 0.9.1 and 0.9.3 announcements — and it is the one whose capstone rewrites what a build is trying to do. Its per-point line is unremarkable — one maximum health and half a point of evasion per point — and that is deliberate: almost all of the tree's value sits at the three breakpoints, and the largest of them sits at the very top.

The three breakpoints
| Points spent | What arrives |
|---|---|
| 5 | Two more inventory slots |
| 10 | One additional Weapon, Item and Miracle offered on every choice |
| 20 | +7% damage to everything, per active combo type |
The capstone, and the arithmetic that follows from it
The combo effects page states the figure and the history: level 20 grants a universal damage boost of 7% per active combo type, raised from 4%. Per type, not per artifact — which is the whole argument. The build routes page works the example: six combos sitting at their minimum thresholds is a 42% boost on everything, most thresholds are only two items, and twelve tagged artifacts is an ordinary mid-run bag. Getting one combo to level 10 instead takes ten or more items of a single tag and a great deal of luck.
That reverses the ordinary advice, and the combo effects page states the rule in both directions: without level 20, go deep, because the individual combo bonuses are what you are buying; with it, go wide, because every additional tag at threshold is another seven percent. The two strategies want different bags, and the tablet solver page notes they want different board shapes from the same tablets too — a planning tool optimises numbers on cells and has no idea which of the two you are running.
Why it is a finished-account tree
Breadth needs a wide artifact pool, and the pool is bought rather than found. The Destiny Inscription sells New Artifacts (1) through (8), of which the first alone adds 21 magic artifacts, and a Bond Artifact node that adds 23 Bond Artifacts to the pool. The combo effects page explains why Bond Artifacts matter specifically for this tree: they connect two combos in one item, and their drop rule was loosened so they enter the table when just one of the two related combos is active rather than both.
The other enabler is Fruit Skewer, which biases which combos' items appear and is set before the run starts — six modifiers, eight with the Farmer Squirrel costume. Chalcedony Key rounds the set out, granting one of Sturdy, Ember, Glacier or Magitech based on where you place it, per the inventory grid page, which makes it a free filler for whichever tag you are one item short on.
None of those are available on a fresh account. That is the honest version of "Ingenuity 20 is the highest ceiling in the game": the ceiling is real, and it is priced in Sapphires spent long before the run starts. The beginner guide says the same thing in one line — the capstone is enormous, but only once you have enough artifacts to run many combos at once.
Levels 5 and 10 are worth having on their own
Two inventory slots for five points compares well against every other slot source. The tablet layout examples page lists them alongside the Destiny Inscription's six-slot row and Survival 10's three, and two cells at five points is the cheapest of the three by some distance — particularly on a board where, per the inventory grid page, expansion appends cells one at a time rather than a row at a time.
Level 10's extra offer is the quieter compounding effect. One more Weapon, Item and Miracle option on every choice, permanently, in a game where extra options otherwise cost dice. It also runs directly against Hard Mode's Dizziness modifier, which removes one or two choices when you obtain artifacts and tablets across two levels and four tiers — the Hard Mode page singles that modifier out as disproportionately painful because it attacks the build system rather than the health bar.
The Burning Fang fire dagger build takes exactly ten points here for that reason, describing it as buying route consistency rather than damage. That is the shape of a partial investment in this tree: slots and offers now, the multiplier later or never.
The trap, stated once
Breadth only beats depth after the capstone. Spend ten points spreading a bag thin without level 20 and you have bought nothing except a set of combos at their weakest tier. The build routes page is explicit that this is a route for a completed Destiny Inscription rather than a starting one, and the talent planner is the fastest way to check whether your pool actually reaches twenty here after everything else the spread needs.
Not confirmed
The repo does not state how "active combo type" is counted for the capstone — whether a tag at any threshold counts once, or whether higher tiers count for more. Nor does it state how the universal damage boost combines with weapon-specific or elemental bonuses. The talents page records that this figure and the level 10 Wisdom rework are the only two talent values confirmed directly in patch notes, so the 4% to 7% change is solid ground; the interaction rules around it are not confirmed.
