Sephiria Luck: What the Stat Does and Where It Comes From

Luck gives you a bonus chance to get rare-and-above items. That is the only thing TEAM HORAY has put in writing about what the stat does, and it comes from one interface line in February 2025: "Bonus chance to get rare and above items based on luck stats is now displayed." How much each point is worth, and whether Luck touches anything besides item rarity, has never been published. This page keeps those two piles apart.

Four questions, four honest answers

  • What does Luck do? It adds a bonus chance to get items of rare rarity and above. Source: Update 0.5.3, 21 February 2025.
  • How much is one point worth? Not confirmed. No announcement gives a rate, a formula or a cap.
  • Where do I see my bonus? The same line says the bonus chance "is now displayed". It does not say on which screen, and we have not captured it ourselves, so we are not going to send you to a menu we cannot vouch for.
  • Is that still how it works in 1.0? Not confirmed either way. The line was last publicly stated in 0.5.3, and no announcement from the 1.0 Update through 1.0.33 mentions Luck at all.

Every announcement where "luck" or "lucky" appears

We ran a text search over all 106 items in the game's Steam news feed. The stat itself is named in four announcements, once in each. A fifth matches the search only because an artifact in it is called Lucky Medal:

DateAnnouncementThe lineWhat it settles
31 Oct 2024Update 0.1.26"Six-leaf Clover: Changed effect (Barter → Luck)"Luck is a stat an artifact can carry
21 Feb 2025Update 0.5.3"Bonus chance to get rare and above items based on luck stats is now displayed"What the stat does
24 Apr 20250.7.28 Update"Bunnyville Guard Helmet: Added #Solid combo, removed luck penalty"An item could carry negative Luck
11 Aug 20250.8.3 Update: Chapter 3Gambler — "Changed: Luck +7, Dice +10, No items to acquire"A Miracle hands out a flat Luck number
8 Jan 20260.10.6 Update"New artifacts 'Lucky Medal, Neutralizer Noir, Blue Ink Bottle, Impact Amplifier, Crystal of Harmony, Eternal Winter' have been added."A name, and nothing else

Every row predates 1.0, and the oldest is from October 2024. These are the last public statements on each point, not confirmed current values.

Where the stat comes from

There are three kinds of source, and the evidence behind them is not equally good.

Artifacts, from the patch notes. Six-leaf Clover was given Luck in 0.1.26, when its effect was switched over from Barter. The notes pick it up three more times in 2025: 0.7.14&15 "Removed critical damage reduction option", 0.7.41 added the #Shadow combo to it, and the 0.7.45 announcement says only "Stats have been partially increased" — which stats, and by how much, is not stated. So the Clover's Luck per level is not in the record. The Bunnyville Guard Helmet sits on the other side of the ledger: it used to carry a luck penalty and lost it in 0.7.28.

One more artifact is linked to Luck by a community source only. The Hard Mode tier 50 guide we summarise on the combo tags page describes Beast's Heart as defence, damage and luck. No patch note says so.

A Miracle, from the patch notes. A Miracle, per our glossary, is a once-per-run Tree Roots reward. An addendum in the 0.8.3 announcement, listing changes left out of the previous notes, records Gambler going from "Dice +10, No items to acquire" to "Luck +7, Dice +10, No items to acquire". That +7 is the only Luck figure TEAM HORAY has ever printed. The notes do not explain the phrase "No items to acquire", so we quote it and leave it alone.

The Willpower talent, from community sources. Our talents page lists Willpower at +1 Luck per point, up to +20. That line comes from a community guide and a community data compendium rather than from an announcement; the Willpower page covers the tree's breakpoints and the Wish Fountain dispute that makes its capstone hard to price. The tree is opened by Terrain Recovery on the Destiny Inscription. The tier 50 evasion tank build puts twenty points here partly for luck on item rolls, which is the same reading the 0.5.3 line supports.

The +7 and the +20, side by side

If the community figure for Willpower is right, a full tree is 20 Luck, and Gambler's 7 is roughly a third of that from a single pick. That comparison mixes one first-party number with one community number, and it is as far as the arithmetic goes. Nobody has published what 7 Luck or 20 Luck does to the odds, so neither can be turned into a percentage.

Names that prove nothing

Two things in Sephiria sound like Luck sources and cannot be shown to be.

Lucky Medal was added in 0.10.6 in a list of six new artifacts. The announcement gives no effect text for any of them.

Lucky Clover is a random event on the single community event list our run events page works from. It has no description there and appears in no patch note.

Either may grant Luck. Until an announcement or a captured tooltip says so, a name is all we have.

What "rare and above" leaves open

The 0.5.3 line does not list the tiers it means. Rarity names that appear in patch notes include Common, Advanced, Rare and Legendary, with Uncommon showing up once in 0.1.26, and items move between tiers often — the 0.10.6 notes took Solis Dekri from Rare to Legendary, for one. The line also says "items" without saying whether that means artifacts only. Tablets have rarity too: the 1.0 Update moved Nurture and Trick from Advanced to Common. Whether Luck weights tablet offers is not confirmed.

What we will not give you

  • A percentage per point, a cap, or a curve. None is published.
  • Effects outside item rarity. No announcement ties Luck to events, shop stock, dice, Leaf or critical hits.
  • A ranking of Luck sources. This site does not publish tier lists, and with one printed number there is nothing to rank.

What we can offer is narrower. Luck as described in 0.5.3 concerns the chance to get rare-and-above items; whether it does anything else is not confirmed. If the 0.5.3 display is still in the game, the bonus shown on your own screen is a better guide than any figure a website could print. What artifacts and tablets do once you hold them is covered on the artifacts and tablets page.

Checked against 1.0.33

The last announcement that names the stat is 0.8.3 Update: Chapter 3, 11 August 2025; the last match of any kind is the name Lucky Medal in 0.10.6, 8 January 2026. Nothing from the 1.0 Update of 31 July 2026 through 1.0.33 of 11 September 2026 mentions Luck, Six-leaf Clover, Gambler or Lucky Medal. Every statement above is an Early Access one that 1.0 has neither restated nor withdrawn.
