Sephiria Artifacts and Tablets: The Inventory Build System

Last verified 2026-08-07

Your bag is your build. Sephiria's official feature list calls it a strategic inventory system: you collect Artifacts and empower them with different Tablets, then manage the inventory to suit your abilities. That last clause is the whole game — an Artifact's value depends on how you place it, not just on what it is.

Artifacts vs Tablets

Artifacts are the items you collect during a run. They are the things that do something.

Tablets empower Artifacts. They are the multiplier layer. A Tablet on its own does nothing useful; a Tablet applied to the right Artifact is where builds come from.

That split is why players who treat the inventory as a backpack stall out. You are not carrying loot — you are assembling a circuit.

Why placement matters

Because Tablets empower Artifacts, the spatial relationship between the two is a decision you make every time you pick something up. The community has already produced dedicated guidance on this — one of the most-read Steam Community guides for the game is specifically about how to place Tablets for the best configuration, which tells you how central this system is.

Practically, that means three habits:

  1. Do not auto-collect. Before you take an Artifact, look at whether you have space where it would actually be empowered.
  2. Re-arrange between rooms, not mid-fight. Rearranging is free time between encounters and expensive during them.
  3. Plan for what you are about to get. If your weapon tree is pushing you toward one effect, leave room for the Tablets that support it.

How this connects to weapons

Weapon upgrades and inventory placement are two halves of one build. Each of the six weapon classes has more than 50 upgrades; those upgrades change which Artifact effects are worth empowering. A fast-hitting class wants different Tablet support than a slow heavy one.

Still to verify

We have not published individual Artifact names, Tablet effect values, or grid-size specifics, because we have not confirmed them in-game. The system description on this page comes from the official feature list. Concrete tables will be added once each entry has been checked rather than inferred.
