Sephiria Patch Notes: 1.0.19 to 1.0.24

Last verified 2026-08-10

Sephiria left Early Access on 31 July 2026 and has shipped four patches in the eleven days since. Before the list, one piece of housekeeping that confuses everyone who goes looking:

There is no 1.0.20

The published sequence is 1.0 Update → 1.0.21 Hotfix → 1.0.22 → 1.0.23 → 1.0.24. No announcement for 1.0.20 exists.

Two further wrinkles:

  • The announcement titled "1.0 Update" carries the full 1.0.19 patch notes inside it. That is where all the substantive launch balance lives.
  • 1.0.21 contains a section titled "Additional Changes Missing from the 1.0.19 Patch Notes" — real balance changes documented retroactively.
  • 1.0.25 is referenced inside 1.0.24 as fixing a Training Grounds freeze, but its own notes never appeared in the feed.

If you have been searching for "Sephiria 1.0.20 patch notes" and finding pages that confidently list changes, those pages invented them.

1.0.19 — the launch balance patch

Published inside the 1.0 announcement, 31 July.

New content: 19 Artifacts, 7 Tablets, 1 Combo, 3 Miracles, 12 Potions, 1 Costume, and weapon upgrades — 1 to Great Sword, 4 to Dagger, 4 to Crossbow, 4 to Staff. None to Sword & Shield or Blade.

Chapter 6 arrived with 2 bosses, 1 mini-boss, 3 BGM tracks, 3 achievements, and the game's ending and credits.

New systems:

  • Side Bag — storage for spare items, unlocked through Destiny Inscription. Items in it are inactive.
  • Mystic Pot reworked — now converts 1 artifact into a different artifact of the same rarity, or 2 artifacts into one of higher rarity. It previously turned artifacts into tablets.
  • Hard Mode expanded from 30 to 60 tiers, with six new elements: Festival of Blood, False Vanguard, Deterioration, Tension, Heavy Heart and Proliferation.

Tablet balance: Nurture and Trick both Advanced → Common; Competition +2 → +3 downward; Wave +2 → +3 on the upper-right diagonal; Preparation +1 → +2 lower-right; Daydream reworked to +2 on each of the four diagonals.

Artifact balance: Frozen Egg now benefits from follower-damage effects; Eternal Winter's physical coefficient cut hard from 72/130/230 to 40/75/125 and rebased on 50% of Cold Damage.

Weapon balance, selected:

  • Mischievous Prank reworked from a stat trade into "Special Attack becomes Leaf Explosion; Normal Attack damage is added to Special Attack damage"
  • Loving Gaze — Whirlwind crit chance +50% → +100%, special attack speed 50% faster
  • Harsh Trial — Trance chance 20% → 30%, max stacks 2 → 4
  • Lightning Greatsword "S3G" — Electrocution extra damage 20% → 33%
  • Lightning Dagger — extra damage 20% → 25% of Lightning Damage
  • Heidi — Overheat gain on Sheath 2 → 3, cap 6 → 9
  • Adonis — crit damage "increased by 30%" → "amplified by 30%" (amplification sums rather than multiplies — a nerf disguised as a wording change)
  • Academy Enchanted Sword — Parry MP restore 22% → 30%

Renamed stat: "Special Attack Cost Reduction" became "Special Attack MP Cost Reduction."

UI: tablets can now be rotated with middle mouse click.

1.0.21 Hotfix — 31 July

  • Credits viewable from the title screen after completing the game
  • Spinning Staff Demon — attack warning occasionally stayed on screen
  • Guillotine of Bitter Cold — the UI mislabelled its skill as "Blizzard Hammer"
  • Hard Mode "Blood Festival" — healing effectiveness now scales inversely with party size: 66% at 2 players, 50% at 3, 33% at 4
  • Final boss phase 1 radial bullet spread reduced; phase 2 "Pillar Summoner" minion HP −33%
  • Hard Mode was being incorrectly marked as cleared after a Game Over
  • Ultrawide fix: hovering "Reroll" selected the Auxiliary Bag icon instead

Retroactive 1.0.19 changes documented here:

  • Sword & Shield Cleave base cost 20 MP → 15
  • Guard frames now active from the very beginning of the Cleave animation

Those two are the reason Sword & Shield plays better at 1.0 than most guides written during Early Access suggest.

1.0.22 — 1 August

  • Breath of Ice (Sword & Shield) was granting +30% dash attack damage instead of the stated +40%
  • Droplet of Plitvice could rarely crash the game when dropped while in use

1.0.23 — 4 August

Stages

  • Merchants that can fight now return to their original position after leaving it
  • Suspicious Hat Merchant — adjusted how quickly it starts to flee

Boss: Qliphoth

  • Projectiles could enter the safe zone in certain situations

Items and weapons

  • Solis Iubar — a different special attack triggered at 150 MP or higher
  • Minigun — MP cost now applies correctly in decimal units below 1
  • Scabbard of Exorcism — projectile direction occasionally wrong in multiplayer
  • Golden Needle of the North — could occasionally freeze the game
  • Alchemy Combo — did not trigger when a Tablet was obtained into the Side Bag
  • Costume/Talent starting items were kept after being placed in the Side Bag and swapping

The carrot emoji (🥕) in TEAM HORAY's notes marks changes made from community feedback.

1.0.24 — 7 August

  • Appearance variants added to 7 costumes
  • Potions now drop separately instead of stacking when dropping several
  • Mischievous Prank — special attack unusable at 40 MP or lower
  • Halberd — attack range not visible in multiplayer
  • Absolute Ring — effect not visible in multiplayer
  • The mouse cursor can now leave the game window while navigating UI
  • Holding the attack key before a cutscene caused attacks to continue during it
  • Collin's dialogue disabled once he becomes a companion
  • Co-op: mismatched-progress invites, and a Chapter 5 player being softlocked by clearing the game in a Chapter 6 lobby
  • Steam Profile Rich Presence support
  • Unity engine bumped to 6000.3.21f1

What this means for your build

Three changes are worth acting on:

Sword & Shield got quietly better. Cleave at 15 MP with guard frames from frame one is a different ability from the 20 MP version most Early Access guides describe.

Nothing about artifacts or tablets has changed since 1.0.19. All four subsequent patches contain zero numeric artifact or tablet balance. Any layout advice written after 31 July is still current.

Multiplayer got most of the attention. Weapon effect errors, Halberd range, Absolute Ring visibility, Scabbard of Exorcism direction, chapter-mismatch softlocks — four consecutive patches have fixed co-op-specific bugs, which suggests it is where the remaining rough edges are.

The pattern so far

Two content-free days between 1.0.22 and 1.0.23, three between 1.0.23 and 1.0.24. TEAM HORAY is shipping small, fast, feedback-driven fixes rather than batching them, and marking community-requested changes explicitly. For a studio that spent fifteen months in Early Access before launching, that cadence is consistent with how they ran the beta.

We update this page when a new announcement lands, and we say which of our other pages a patch invalidated rather than silently editing them.
